N V Reddi Naidu
Younger Brother of N Gopala Row
Nandikolla Venkata Reddi Naidu was the younger brother of Nandikolla Gopala Row. He also made a significant name for himself in the field of art, much like his elder brother. Although he was not a self-taught artist, he developed remarkable artistic skills through the teachings of N. Gopala Row. Venkata Reddi Naidu was a first-rate portrait artist and an admirable landscape painter. The picturesque scenery of nature, adorned with soothing natural colors across the region, inspired him to paint landscapes, gradually igniting his passion for it. Thus, he drew inspiration from the atmosphere around him and the family’s rich artistic heritage from an early age. Venkata Reddi Naidu created one of his famous paintings, ‘Saium Sandhya,’ meaning “setting of the sun.” Gopala Row’s exquisite portraits served as models of style for painters, particularly in southern India. He accompanied his elder brother on various commissioned painting projects.
